Backstage: All of the Haiku
More about “All of the Haiku”
Writing haiku—or, more accurately, senryū—is a pastime shared by a number of my friends and coworkers over the years. It can be fun to write them in a small group, each person contributing in succession, so that the haiku become a sort of conversation. (My record for one session is forty haiku written collectively by three people.)
All of the Haiku is my first attempt to write a triple haiku which includes a nod to the repeated-lines element of the villanelle, while also paying homage to the kōan.
Perhaps I have overreached; you be the judge.
